Saint Andrews. For most that visit our small town by the sea, the name alone evokes a memory – maybe a slow stroll along the wharf, a low-tide search for sea glass, a day on the bay above the humpbacks, a winding garden meander, the catch of the day, the sun quietly setting; the world around it near-halted. We, too, fell in love with Saint Andrews; it, with its timeless charm – its storied history – its artists’ paradise – its sauntering, secret magic. For years we’ve dreamt of becoming part of that Saint Andrews legend – and now it's time that we do.
Our business aims to be like the ubiquitous periwinkle that inspired our logo – small and adaptable, taking the time to get things right, heartily committed to our locale. Supporting local suppliers and businesses, operating sustainably and crafting a product and an experience we passionately believe in are values we refuse to compromise on.

Ian grew up in, temporarily moved away from, then re-fell in love with Charlotte County. Over the past seven years, Ian has worked in and around the local craft beer industry in New Brunswick, wearing many hats at some of the most successful craft breweries in the province. An award-winning brewer, Ian’s craft beer credentials are some of the most impressive in the Maritimes, which include certification as a BJCP Certified Beer Judge, beer instructor at UNB’s College of Extended Learning and eastern Canada’s only Advanced Cicerone® (beer sommelier). With degrees in both English literature and Education, Ian is also passionate about both teaching and writing, both of which he’s learned to be valuable in everyday brewery operations.
Dwayne has been a Saint Andrews local since 2012. A true craftsman, Dwayne’s skills with his hands are inspiring, whether in his work as a construction foreman, finish carpenter, bartender, cook or ECMA-nominated musician. Having completed the Culinary and Restaurant Management program at NBCC Saint Andrews and having toured the country as a musician, Dwayne was inevitably exposed to innumerable different craft beers along the way and his passion for those flavours and aromas continues to grow. He also knows first-hand the value live music, events, and creating a community space have in bringing people out and closer together.
Jessica’s professional life as a Senior Operations Analyst has had her tackling projects of all sizes over the past 10 years. Working for a global telecommunications company over that time, Jessica has been heavily involved in project management, policy and process development, and business systems and data analysis. A Saint Andrews local since 2012, Jessica is passionate about the history of the area, often contributing her time to the Charlotte County Archives. She has an Honours degree in History and International Development and recently completed the Brewery Operations, and Brewery Finance and Accounting courses offered at the University of Vermont. Jessica’s knowledge and experience will be integral to the overall start-up and streamlined operation of Saint Andrews Brewing Company.
Saint Andrews Brewing Company will make and sell beer in the downtown heart of Saint Andrews, providing an authentic craft beer experience to customers who want to enjoy a pint in our taproom or on our waterfront patio. Customers can bring in food from local vendors, buy merchandise and fill a growler to-go so they can take some of the Saint Andrews Brewing Company experience home with them. We’ll sell kegs to local restaurants and hotels. We’ll be open year-round – our goal is to be both an ambassador for the Saint Andrews brand for visitors and a community space where locals will be able to relax, gather, tell stories, hear live music. With the beer we make and the space we create we want to pay tribute to the historic and artistic and natural elements in Saint Andrews that we find so inspiring.

Saint Andrews Brewing Company was inspired here – in this tiny corner of the world, this oasis to so many – full with its own unique landscape, colourful history, close sense of community, appreciation for those things artistic and culinary, and a stretched-out pacing that seems to make the waves roll in and out of the harbour a little more slowly. To embody these things: that’s our dream.
We’re near the finish line. Suppliers have been chosen. Recipes have been tested. Designs have been finalized. And this final stage has us seeking those financial partners who can see our vision, understand our philosophy and those who share our passion. If you are interested in finding out more about how you might get involved with Saint Andrews Brewing Company – we’d love to chat with you (perhaps over a beer)!
